Loft Conversions & Roof Extensions A dormer conversion (minor roof extension) provides more headroom and flexibility when planning bathrooms and en suites. Typically, a roof window conversion will take 6-8 weeks on site, with a dormer conversion 10 to 12 weeks dependant on the size of property. A large bungalow can provide enough roof space to install two or more rooms with a bathroom. So potentially, you could be enjoying a new playroom, study, child or teenager's bedroom with a bathroom or a new master bedroom with en suite for you. Roof extension involves the removal of a shallow pitched roof replacing it with a roof of a steeper pitch; thus providing space for the construction of one or more rooms, bathrooms, terraces and balconies. This method would be subject to Planning Permission which could be factored in as part of the complete package.
